Who here believes I am not responsible enough to have a blog? Raise your hands…

WordPress makes blogging easy. Just type and post. So why is it that I have four or five incomplete posts sitting on the sidebar of my ‘dashboard’? I honestly meant to post them at the time I wrote them. Really. Truly. So why haven’t I done so?

No idea. Maybe it’s because the ‘l’ key no longer works, and I have to cut’n’paste (any clue what fun that is? By the time I have a copy of the letter and get the cursor in the right place so that it doesn’t start in the middle of some other paragraph…well, you get the idea.)  Maybe it’s because I genuinely thought that the year would get better as it progressed.

Hmmm. I’ve walked away from the computer five times since I started this, and I think I have a tenuous grasp on the problem: every time I begin to post, I  feel the need to write down everything that’s happened since I last posted (a zillion months ago) and catch up to today. And that’s never gonna happen. So I have to take it from today, I suppose, if I ever plan to post on this blog again.

So, I’m still living in Shreveport with Kate and Mike and Danny (who’s now 2 and 1/2!) Not working…long, unpleasant story there…my dyes and most of my belongings remain in Grand Rapids, Michigan for the time being. Apart from my stupid right knee (which should have been replaced several years ago) I’m in pretty good health and spirits. I’m still married, although I’ve not seen him in 7 months and speak infrequently though cordially (that’s a story there, his drugs/bust,  for another time) because he’s supposed to be getting health insurance on me (haven’t seen it yet, but remain hopeful.) I’ve been knitting and spinning and mostly baking bread, doing laundry, and playing with my best little bud, Danny.

Okay, that’s enough. If I hit the ‘post’ button, it will, and it will be a first in many, many moons.

  1. There you are! (Been checking here and on Rav for an update.)

So glad to hear you’re still with loved ones and doing okay.

  2. One day at a time. It’s your blog so there should be no pressure on what you should or shouldn’t post. My theory is if they don’t like it they don’t have to read it. I tried for to long to keep everyone happy which in turn made me unhappy and not wanting to write a post because it was to stressful.

It’s hard to believe that Danny is 2 and 1/2 already. Wow!

I'd love to hear from you...
